Monkey Business at the Airport

There was some monkeying around at San Antonio International Airport this afternoon when a baboon that was being transported got out of its cage, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

The airports Evelynn Bailey told 1200 WOAIs Mike Board the monkey was on an American Airlines flight that landed at mid afternoon and escaped as it was being transported.

The Airport said in a statement the baboon was flown from Chicago and was bound for a wildlife sanctuary.  No word on how it got out of its cage.

She says the monkey was never in an area that was accessible to passengers, and was coaxed by a wildlife biologist into a closed room.

The San Antonio Zoo says its experts helped with the containment of the baboon.

She says no flights were disrupted due to the incident.
