Williamson County tornado confirmed as EF1 with 90 mph winds

The National Weather Service has confirmed that at approximately 8:20 a.m. Sunday a tornado touched down near Hero Way on the north side of Leander.

Roof and tree damage was found just north of the road at several homes. The tornado then went north parallel to Ronald Reagan Boulevard where there was tree damage on the west side of the road. 

The tornado then crossed Highway 29, weakened considerably, and dissipated near the entrance of the Santa Rita Ranch subdivision. The tornado was on the ground for a total of 20 minutes and traveled approximately 5 miles.
