A 36 year old man who was convicted in connection with one of the most horrifying cases of child abuse in Bexar County was sentenced today to 65 years in prison, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Deandre Dorch was found guilty of chaining two children in his car in the back yard of a home in northeast Bexar County and leaving them there for days.
Deputies also found other young children inside the house, unsupervised.
Dorch testified at his trial that he thought his girlfriend was taking care of the children, some of who were the children of a family friend away in California.
But prosectuors said Dorch knew about and participated in the abuse.
The girlfriend is service a 50 year sentence after pleading guilty to similar charges in the case.The woman who was in California is also facing charges.
