Los Angeles is percentage points ahead of Houston at 25-and-16 with the 26-and-17 Astros sitting right behind them after the opener of the three-game series. Justin Upton's RBI single in the sixth proved to be the difference. Andrew Heaney struck out 10 over eight innings of one-run ball to improve to 2-and-2. Justin Anderson worked around two hits and a walk in the ninth to get his first save. Lance McCullers Junior took the tough-luck loss, giving up two runs over six innings. Max Stassi had the only RBI for Houston.
