Charlie Morton struck out a career-best 14 and allowed one run over seven innings as the Astros downed the Rangers 6-1 in Houston. Morton has won eight straight decisions dating to last season. Carlos Correa smashed a two-run homer, while Evan Gattis and Brian McCann contributed solo shots. The Astros are 4-and-1 in their last five games. Doug Fister took the loss, yielding three runs on four hits, but two were home runs, in six-plus innings. Ronald Guzman homered for Texas. The Rangers have dropped five of their last eight are last in the American League West with a 16-and-25 record.
