George Springer was 6-for-6 with a three-run homer and four runs scored as the Astros hammered the Athletics 16-2 to open a three-game series in Oakland. Springer joined Joe Morgan as the only player in Houston franchise-history to go 6-for-6. Marwin Gonzalez had three of the 'Stros 20 hits, including a homer and five RBI. Dallas Keuchel cruised through eight innings of one-run ball to improve to 2-and-5. Houston had lost five of its previous six. Brett Anderson gave up nine runs, seven earned, in three-plus innings to fall to 0-and-1.
