Chris Sale struck out 12 over seven innings of one-run ball as the Red Sox cruised past the Rangers 6-1 in Arlington. Sale allowed just four hits over his seven frames of work and improved his mark to 3-and-1. Sandy Leon busted the game open with a three-run homer in the sixth and J.D. Martinez added a solo shot in the seventh. Boston has won three-straight and improved to 25-and-9 overall. Doug Fister surrendered all six runs over six-and-a-third to take the loss against his former club. Ryan Rua broke up the shutout with a solo home run in the seventh. Texas fell to 13-and-23 with its third-straight loss.
