You've heard of Race for the Cure. In San Antonio today, its Fit for the Cure.
News Radio 1200 WOAI reports the women's lingerie company Wacoal, in conjunction with Susan B. Komen, is donating $2 to Komen's breast cancer effort for every free bra fitting they do today at Macy's North Star Mall.
"Eight out of ten women are wearing the wrong size bra," Debby Lamica of Wacoal said. "We want to gt them into the fitting room, try on some bras, it takes 15 minutes, no more, and for every free fitting that we do we will donate $2 to Susan G. Komen."
This is ahead of the Susan G. Komen 5k Race for the Cure which is set for tomorrow at the Alamodome.
She says if the customers buy something, its another $2 donation.
She says Wacoal has been associated with Susan B. Komen for 18 years, and just this year they passed the $5 million mark in donations.
"That's a lot of women, its over 800,000 that we've fitted."
And Lamica says having a correctly fitted bra can make all the difference, considering that many women mess with bra straps, or have bras that fit poorly on them.
She says having a baby, having a fluctuation in weight, are all keys to when a new bra fitting is required. She says women should get a fitting at least once a year.
