An illegal Immigrant who was tagged for deportation by Immigration officials was shot and killed today when he ran away from officers and later fired shots at them, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
FBI Special Agent in Charge Christopher Combs says the agents returned fire and killed the man.
It happened on Ferndale Street, just off Division on the southwest side.
Combs says one Immigration officer suffered minor wounds.
Witnesses told police the man bolted from the agents and started running barefoot down the street, then turned around and fired 'six to eight shots' in the neighborhood of tightly packed homes.
The suspect was dead by the time police arrived.
