Charlie Morton took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and the Astros held off the Yankees 2-1 in the first of a four-game series at Minute Maid Park. Morton struck out 10 while allowing just two hits and one run over seven-and-two-thirds innings to move to 4-and-0. Ken Giles struck out the side in the ninth to notch his third save. Yuli Gurriel's RBI double in the fourth made it 2-0 Astros and wound up being the difference. Brett Gardner singled in New York's run in the eighth. Sonny Gray took the loss. The Yankees had won their previous nine games.
