What's a 300th birthday party without a 300th birthday cake?
1200 WOAI reports Rio Magazine and the Culinary Institute of San Antonio today presented a specially created layer cake to the city to mark the 300th birthday celebrations, which begin tomorrow.
Melissa Fritz, a professor at the CIA, says the cake is festooned with images of San Antonio, all edible.
"We've got the Riverwalk, we have a mariachi band, we have the Tower of the Americas, we have the Torch of Friendship, we have the Alamo."
She says all the images are edible.
"We used an edible printer to print different images that really represent our city, all edible, all edible ink."
But the cake itself is styrofoam.
