The whispers leading up to the 2018 NFL Draft regarding the number-one pick ended up being accurate. The Browns started the festivities making the selection of quarterback Baker Mayfield out of Oklahoma. Cleveland took Mayfield over other QBs Sam Darnold, Josh Allen and Josh Rosen. The 6-foot-1 righty started his college career at Texas Tech before playing his final three seasons with the Sooners. Mayfield completed 69.8-percent of his passes with 119 touchdowns and 21 interceptions during his time at OU. Browns head coach Hue Jackson had previously said Tyrod Taylor will be the team's starter in 2018.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys chose Boise State's Leighton Vander Esch with the 19th pick.
New Orleans traded up with Green Bay, moving from 27th to 14th to get UTSA's Marcus Davenport.
