Home Depot Thieves Lead Police on Wild Chase

Two men who were stealing riding lawnmowers from a west side Home Depot early today led police on a wild chase through the far west side, occasionally driving the wrong way down the Highway 90 access road, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police were notified about 12:15 this morning that two men were cutting the cables on a riding lawnmower display at the Home Depot store at Loop 410 and Marbach Rd.

When officers arrived, the two men jumped into a truck with a flatbed trailer containing several riding lawn mowers and headed west on Marbach Rd. with police right behind.

When the man made it past Loop 1604 Bexar County Deputies joined in the chase.

They looped around onto Highway 90, traveling eastbound in the westbound access road for several miles.

They finally pulled into a mobile home park at Highway 90 and Westglen, where they jumped out of the truck and tried to hide in the trailers.

No such luck.

Deputies and police collared both of the men and charged them with multiple felonies, including evading arrest.
