C.J. Cron and Daniel Robertson both homered as the Rays doubled up the Rangers 8-4 in the opener of a three-game series at Tropicana Field. Wilson Ramos had three hits and two RBI for the Rays, who snapped a four-game skid. Blake Snell struck out nine over six-and-a-third innings of one-run ball as he improved to 2-and-1. Nomar Mazara clubbed a three-run homer and Joey Gallo hit a solo shot for Texas, which had won its previous two. Martin Perez was rocked for eight runs, seven earned, in four frames as he fell to 1-and-2.
