Trump Asks Iran And Russia To Stand Down

Trump

President Trump is urging Iran and Russia to withdraw their support for what he called Syria's "barbarism and brutality."   That statement came after Trump ordered the U.S. military to launch strikes on Syria in retaliation for a suspected chemical weapons attack ordered by President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus last week.   In a Pentagon briefing tonight, Defense Secretary James Mattis said the Syrian regime is guilty of violating international laws.  He said the aim is to destroy Syria's chemical weapons infrastructure.
