A 22 year old man who police say was 'playing with a gun' and shot an eight year old boy inside a northeast side home earlier this week is learning that play time is over, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Ronald Mathews Jacobs, 22, surrendered to police Thursday night to face felony charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Bond has been set at $75,000.
Police say Jacobs was an upstairs between in the house with the boy when the weapon 'accidentally discharged.' The boy was rushed to the hospital, but is expected to survive, he is listed as in stable but guarded condition.
Police say Jacobs ran away but the boy's father and another person who was also in the home pointed him out to police.
