Three vacant homes were severely damaged by fire overnight, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
The first fire came in about 11PM Tuesday in a two story house on Augusta Street, which is just north of downtown.
The fire started in the rear of the house and spread to the main part of the strucuture, causing $100,000 in damage.
About 2AM Wednesday, fire companies were called to a vacant home on the eat side, in the 1500 block of Hays Street. By the time units arrived it was too late, and the house was burned to the ground.
A home in the 300 block of Edgebrook, which is in the Dellview neighborhood off West Ave, was also less seriously damaged by fire.
Causes for the three fires have not been determined, but several recent fires inside vacant homes have been caused by bums squatting inside the homes and lighting fires to keep warm.
