Doug Fister had a solid debut for the Rangers as they cruised past the Astros 5-1 in Arlington. Fister tossed five innings of one-run ball against his former club to pick up the win. Nomar Mazara put Texas in front with a solo-homer in the second inning and the Rangers tacked on two runs in the fourth and seventh to put the game away. Texas evened the season-opening series at one-game apiece. Dallas Keuchel surrendered three runs over six innings of work to take the loss for the Stros. Max Stassi drove in the lone Houston run with a fifth inning double. The Astros managed just five hits as a team in defeat.
