Three people were shot in three separate incidents around the city overnight, all on the north side, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
The gunplay began about 11PM in the parking lot of the Budget Inn on Fredericksburg Road, just across the street from the Oak Hills Country Club.
Police say a 20 year old man picked a fight with three men in the parking lot. One of the men ended it by pulling a handgun and shooting the 20 year old once in the chest.
The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The three men piled into a waiting car and sped away.
Not long afterward and not far away, a man called EMS from a gas station on Loop 410, and claiming he was shot at the intersection of 410 and Cherry Ridge.
But police went to that location and couldn't find any evidence of a shooting, no blood and no shell casings.
The man then clammed up and refused to tell detectives any more. He was taken to the hospital with a non life threatening gunshot wound to the thigh.
About 3AM, a man turned up at the Valero station at Judson Rd. and I-35, with three bullet holes in his butt.
Like his counterpart on Cherry Ridge, this guy wouldn't tell police anything about why shot him, where, or why.
He will be okay, but he won't be doing much sitting down for a while.
No suspects have been arrested in any of the shootings.
