Man Jumps Off Bridge While Being Questioned by Police

A man who was being questioned by police after being pulled over on a west side street early today suddenly bolted from officers, and jumped off the Elmendorf Street bridge and into Alazan Creek, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

The offer had pulled over the man in his twenties who was riding a bicycle down Elmendorf Street for what was described as 'field questioning.'

The officer said the man started getting nervous, and suddenly ran away, cross the street, climbed over the bridge railing, and jumped 25 feet into the creek.

The Fire Department brought him out of the creek and rushed him to University Hospital with multiple injuries.

Police say they just wanted to question the man about an old traffic ticket.
