Rob Gray's layup in the closing seconds capped a wild final minute to give Houston a 67-65 first-round win over San Diego State in the West Region in Wichita. The Aztecs' Devin Watson tied the game with 1:08 left on a three and did the same with 36 seconds remaining after Gray put the Cougars back up three with a deep hit of his own. Gray finished with a career-high 39 points and was the only Houston player in double-figures. The Cougars will play either Michigan or Montana in the second round. Jalen McDaniels had 18 points and nine rebounds in the loss. SDSU ends its season 22-and-11.
