I-35 has been reopened across the northeast side after police activity caused a major morning drive headache today, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
The highway was closed at the I-37 ramp just northeast of downtown for two hours at the height of morning rush hour, after a body was found sprawled in the middle of the main lanes near the Pine Street bridge.
Police determined that the victim had been trying to dash across the main lanes of the highway and was hit by a passing car.
The driver did stop and is not expected to face criminal charges.
