A suspect was arrested this afternoon after whipping out a gun in front of a group of U.S. Marshals who were attempting to arrest him on an aggravated assault charge, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
U.S. Marshals with the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force tracked Pete Carrion, 31, to an apartment on Hackberry Street, east of downtown.
"We located the individual, but he brandished a firearm as he was going back int the home, a few shots were fired, but he was arrested and taken into custody," Deputy U.S. Marshal Carlos Alvarado said. "After a brief time he was in the home, he came out and surrendered to law enforcement."
A second person was 'detained' at the scene. Its unclear whether that person will fae charges.
Police surrounded the area and blocked off several streets, but the standoff quickly ended.
"Not very long. He was in there for a short time, and he exited the apartment and we took him into custody."
Nobody was injured
