A 23 year old man is clinging to life after he slammed his car into three trees in a north side neighborhood this morning, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say the man was driving his pickup down tree-lined Rogers Ranch Road shortly after midnight when he lost control, jumped a curb, took out a light pole and then hit a tree.
The pickup then flipped on its side, slid fifty feet, and slammed into two more trees.
The truck was so mangled that EMS had to work 45 minutes to cut the man out of the wreckage.
He was rushed to University Hospital in extremely critical condition with no vital signs. Paramedics said he was suffering from multiple broken bones and head trauma.
