A police helicopter early this morning spotted two suspects in the shooting of a teenager on a southwest side street early today, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say the 18 year old was standing in front of his home in the 8700 block of Five Palms when two men walked up to him and they started arguing.
One of the men shot the victim in the stomach, and then both of them attempted to run away.
The police helicopter 'Eagle' was called in and used its searchlight to scan the area. After about an hour, they spotted the two men in a field off Old Pearsall Road.
Police also recovered a backpack full of ammunition.
The pair was arrested and are expected to face aggravated assault charges. No word on what the argument was about. The victim was rushed to University Hospital in critical condition.
