Two people were critically injured in a fiery high speed accident on the city's east side early today, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
A man in his twenties was driving down Gembler Rd. near the AT&T Center about 1AM when, for some reason, he lost control of his car, slammed head on into an oncoming car, then tumbled into a ditch, rolling over several times.
The car then slammed into a telephone pole, snapping it in two, and exploding into flames.
Crews had to cut the victim out of the mangled and charred car, and he was rushed to SAMMC in critical condition.
The 30 year old woman who was driving the car the man hit was shoved into the back seat by the force of the collision.
She was also rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
