The San Antonio Police Department is looking for a few good women, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
A 'Women in Policing' event is set for today at the Police Academy on the city's south side.
Police Chief Bill McManus says the goal is to inspire more women to consider a career in law enforcement.
There will be a panel of experienced female officers who can explain their experiences, and the contributions women can make to today's effective police force.
The women also have an opportunity to view a demonstration of police tactics and operations.
