A man in his forties was killed overnight when he attempted to run across a darkened stretch of Loop 410 and was hit by an SUV, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say it happened Friday night just before midnight on the citys southeast side.
Officials day the man had made it across the main lanes of 410 but was hit as he tried to cross the access road.
Police dont know why the man was trying to run across the highway. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver who hit him stopped and called 911 and will not face charges.
