American Shaun White is the first three-time gold medalist in Olympic snowboarding history. White threw down a 97.75 in his final run and won the gold medal in the men's snowboard halfpipe final. White failed to medal at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia after taking home gold in the 2006 and 2010 Games. Ayumu Hirano of Japan earned silver and Scotty James of Australia took home the bronze.
