Police: Man Shot While Trying to Stop Apartment Burglary

For the second time in a week, a man has been shot for attempting to prevent crime in his apartment building, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Police say a man in his thirties heard noises in an apartment next to his in the Saddlewood Apartments at Loop 410 and Perrin-Beitel last night.  When he want to investigate, the two burglars shot the man.

He was taken to the hospital with serious, but non life threatening, wounds.  The two burglars ran away. Police say they were in fact attempting to burglarize an apartment while the occupants were away.

Last Wednesday, a man was shot when he attempted to stop two men from burglarizing cars in the parking lot of an apartment building on Henderson Pass, on the far north side.
