US-ECONOMY-MIGRANTS-FARMING

13 unaccompanied children were among 76 illegal immigrants who were found jammed into an 18 wheeler trailer at a south Texas Border Patrol checkpoint, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement says the driver, who is a U.S. citizen, pulled up to the Border Patrol checkpoint on Highway 83 north of Laredo in the primary lane, and was questioned about his cargo.

Upon further inspection, the Border Patrol discovered 76 illegal immigrants inside the trailer, including 13 juveniles.

The immigrants were from Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala.

All were reported in good health.  The children were taken to shelters, and the whereabouts of the 62 adults that were found in the trailer is unknown.

The driver was arrested and his big rig was seized by the Border Patrol.
