H-E-B Unveils Super Bowl Commercial

Country hip-hop star Cowboy Troy stars in the H-E-B Super Bowl commercial, which was unveiled today, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

This year, the commercial kicks off H-E-B's annual Quest for Texas Best contest, where people around the state are invited to submit examples of foods they have cooked up with should be included on H-E-B's shelves.

The 30 second commercial will be broadcast between the game's third and fourth quarters, prime time for a Super Bowl commercial.It features Cowboy Troy rapping about the state, over visuals of people driving around Texas and famous Texas sights like the Riverwalk.

“At H-E-B, we’re committed to searching every inch of the Lone Star State to find the finest, most unique items that showcase the flavors of Texas,” said Cory Basso, H-E-B Group Vice President of Marketing and Advertising. “We’re on a mission, and Cowboy Troy’s hip hop-country tunes provide a great backdrop for our Quest for Texas Best.”

 The fifth annual Quest for Texas' Best kicks off right after the Super Bowl, and the winners will be announced in August. The grand prize winner not only gets his or her product sold at H-E-B, but also gets $25,000 and a new Toyota Tundra.

More than 2,000 entries have been received since the contest began in 2014, stocking H-E-B's shelves with new salsas and other products.
