Two people are hospitalized, one in critical condition, following a house fire early Saturday on the city's southeast side, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
When firefighters arrived at the house in the 100 block of Astor, which is just off I-37 near Hackberry St, smoke and flames were already pouring out of the windows.. Firefighters managed to get two residents out of the burning house, but both were rushed to the hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
The fire began in the living room, but the cause has not been determined.. The house is a total loss.
