A licensed gun carrier put that gun to work on the city's west side today, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say a man walked out to his car in the 100 block of Hackley, which is just south of Woodlawn Lake, only to find two men sitting in his car.
The car owner told the men to get out of the car, but police say they instead threatened him, telling him they knew 'where he lives and what he drives.'
The men then started stealing the man's property out of his car, at which time he pulled a handgun and fired one shot.
The wounded man was taken for the hospital and will survive. The other man was taken to police headquarters.
The man who fired the shot is not expected to face charges.
