A woman who was trying to run across darkened Austin Highway on the northeast side away from a crosswalk was killed overnight when she was hit by two passing vehicles, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
The woman was trying to cross between Rainbow and Townlety Drives when she was hit first by a Dodge Ram, ad then by a Jeep Compass.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.. Both drivers stopped and neither was drunk,so no charges are expected.
As is frequently the case, there was a marked, lighted crosswalk not far away.
