Two people in a car were killed overnight in a fiery wreck on the city's southwest side, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say the car was northbound on I-35 not far from Loop 410 when it suddenly sharply slowed on the main lanes of the highway. Police speculate the driver may have missed an exit.
A FedEx truck right behind the car was unable to stop in time and slammed into the back of the car...forcing the car to spin out of control, roll off the roadway, and burst into flames.
Both people in the car were pronounced dead at the scene. The FedEx driver was not hurt and is cooperating with authorities.
No word yet on whether any charges may be filed.
