Texas Economy Leads in Local City Growth

Another indication that the Texas economy continues to outpace the rest of the country, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

In the latest Forbes Magazine study of the fastest growing local economies in the USA, three of the top five are in Texas.

Austin clocks in at number two, followed by San Antonio at number three and Dallas Ft. Worth number five.

San Antonio experienced 30% regional productivity growth between 2011 and 2016, a truly exceptional figure.

Tech hub San Jose is number one in local economic growth.  Nashville is #4, San Francisco #6.

Forbes also looked at the worst performing local job markets over the past five years.  Tucson is the worst, with -4% regional job growth  The only other cities with negative growth are Milwaukee, Hartford, and Rochester N.Y.
