Man Formally Charged With Kidnapping Two Texas Girls

Less than 24 hours after he was arrested in Colorado, a 44 year old Round Rock man was formally charged today with two counts of felony kidnapping by federal officials, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Authorities who received a tip from an AMBER Alert issued in Texas noticed Terry Miles' Hyundai in Trinidad Colorado, near the New Mexico line.  He was quickly captured and two girls in the car, aged 7 and 14, were rescued and were unhurt.

Federal officials also revealed that Miles was the live in boyfriend of Tonya Ellen Bates, the mother of the two girls.

She was found murdered in her home in Round Rock by police who were called to make a welfare check.  The officers also found that the two girls were missing and an AMBER Alert was issued.

Bates had been beaten to death.  Allen has been named as a 'person of interest' in the murder.

Miles is jailed in Colorado without bond.
