The cold weather continues to lead to dangerous house fires, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
About 2:30 this morning residents of a mobile home on Loma Verde, which is in south Bexar County south of Loop 1604, had to be evacuated, along with everything within a thousand feet, after their mobile home caught fire.
The reason: ammunition and four propane tanks inside the burning mobile home threatened to explode.
Nobody was hurt and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Earlier overnight, residents of a home in Stone Oak had to be evacuated into the cold night as flames ripped through their home on Chimney Tops, which is off Wilderness Oak.
Firefighters said when they arrived at the two story home it was already engulfed in flames. The fire is believed to have started in the garage and spread to the main house.Nobody was hurt, but firefighters said at least one family pet did not survive.
