Residents of an east side home escaped a fast moving fire with their lives but little else early today, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Firefighters arrived at the home in the 500 block of Hammond, which is near I-10 and New Braunfels, and 1 AM.
When they got there, they found smoke and flames pouring out of the roof and the windows of the home.
Everybody had run out into the bitterly cold morning by the time the first units arrived and nobody was hurt.
The fire apparently started in one room of the home and spread from there. Damage is significant. Arson investigators are looking for the cause.
