Proceeds from SAPD "Hot Cops" Calendar go to Three Harvey-Damaged ISD's

'San Antonio's Finest' turned into 'San Antonio's Hottest' over Christmas weekend, all for a good cause, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

A 'Hot Cops' calendar, featuring both male and female officers, has been on sale for a couple of months, and now Police Chief William McManus has donated the proceeds from the calendar, some $20,000, to three Coastal Bend school districts that were hit hard by Hurricane Harvey.

The districts receiving the donations are Austwell-Tivoli, Refugio, and Woodsboro.

Public Information Officer Doug Greene, who is definitely among San Antonio's hottest cops, said it is another way police can protect and serve.

"Small town Texas is all about helping people," he said.  "It is not about the amount, its about where it is coming from. If it is coming from a good heart and a good place, that speaks volumes, and makes it more valuable, and that' show small town Texas is.

"Officer Raul Fernandez, who along with his police officer wife, were both featured on the calendar, says it was a lot of fun.

"My wife's in it," he joked.  "We are both very shy people and we don't do these things, but that makes it fun, for both of us."

McManus, who, of course, is featured in the calendar, presented the check wearing a T-shirt reading "Nice try, Harvey."
