District Attorney to Participate in Child Shooting Probe

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar and District Attorney Nico LaHood have agreed to cooperate in the investigation into the shooting death of a San Antonio Police Officer's grandson in Schertz on Thursday, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Both stressed that the DA is not taking over control of the investigation, saying the BCSO homicide office will remain in charge.

The District Attorney's investigator will 'help in the review of evidence and witness statements as the case develops,' Salazar said.

Four deputies opened fire on a suspect on the front porch of a mobile home in Schertz following a two hour pursuit.

A bullet went through the wall of the mobile home and shot Kameron Prescott, killing him.

Investigators have not found a gun that deputies said the woman threatened a deputy with early in the chase, so it appears that the deadly shot was fired by a deputy.
