A woman is facing DWI charges after police say she caused an accident that will force a family of three to spend Christmas in the hospital with serious injuries, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say the woman drifted over the center line of Old O'Connor Rd. on the northeast side and slammed head on into an SUV carrying three people.
The 49 year old driver and a teenager in the front seat were rushed to the hospital with multiple serious injuries.
A 12 year old boy in the back seat had to be cut out of the mangled wreckage by the Jaws of Life. He is also in serious condition.
The woman was booked for drunk driving. She was not hurt.
