The Mavericks spoiled Kawhi Leonard's first game of the season by beating the Spurs 95-89 at AmericanAirlines Arena. Leonard had not played this season after suffering quadriceps tendinopathy.
Harrison Barnes put up 17 points, while Yogi Ferrell, Wesley Matthews and J.J. Barea each had 16. Dallas outscored San Antonio by eight in the fourth quarter to stop a three-game losing streak.
Leonard scored 13 points in 16 minutes in his debut. LaMarcus Aldridge piled up 23 points and 13 rebounds for the Spurs, who had won their previous four games. Rudy Gay scored 21 points in defeat.
