One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a grinding head-on crash on the city's west side early today, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police say an SVU was driving westbound on Culebra Rd about 2:30 AM when, for some reason, it veered into the oncoming lane and slammed head on into a car carrying three people.
All three individuals in the car had be cut out of the mangled wreckage by firefighters.. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The passengers were rushed to University Hospital.
The driver of the car who was was killed in the crash, has been identified as Lizette Flores Corona, 29. The driver of the SUV that hit the car has determined to have been drunk at the time and has been charged with Intoxication Manslaughter and Intoxication Assault.
