A San Marcos man was charged today with the murder of Police Officer Ken Copeland, who was shot to death while serving a warrant on Monday, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Stewart Thomas Mettz, 51, was ordered held without bond on a capital murder charge. He was also charged with a domestic violence count.
Mettz is currently under 24 hour guard at an Austin hospital, where he is being treated for a gunshot wound he suffered during his arrest.
Copeland's funeral is set for next week at the Community Bible Church in San Antonio.
