Fifty Years in Prison for New Braunfels Child Molester

A New Braunfels man has been sentenced to fifty years in prison for sexually assaulting an eleven year old boy, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Christopher Snyder, 52, blamed his quarter century addicted to meth, telling the court when he pled guilty to the crime, "it's just another horrible thing I did while I was high."

The Comal County jury saw a video of the victim talking about his abuse at the hands of Snyder, a statement that prosecutors said 'are a testament to the lasting impact of a predator.'

The victim's grandmother testified that she actually caught Snyder 'in the act of abuse.'

Snyder talked about his relationship with the victim, and conceded that the victim's trust in him allowed him to get close enough to the boy to sexually molest him.

Snyder could have gotten 99 years, but considering Snyder's age, fifty years is essentially a life sentence.
