Little Girl's Alleged Killer Back in Jail

Suspect

Its back to the slammer for Cody Gann, the 18 year old whose quick release after he was arrested Thursday night for the Thanksgiving Day murder of ten year old Delilah Hernandez outraged many, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Prosecutors today filed additional charges against Gann, including unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and aggravated robbery, which upped his bond to $1.75 million.  Officials say he was immediately rebooked into jail.  He had been released on $250,000 bond.

An arrest affidavit says Gann opened fire on the home just north of Basse Road Thanksgiving morning as revenge against Delilah's brother, who had offended Gann in some gang way.  Delilah, who was watching TV in a bedroom, was shot in the chest and killed instantly.

Like the drive by murder of a four year old east side boy in June, Delilah's murder sparked universal outrage at the senseless violence being carried out by made-up 'gangs' in the city.

A 19 year old woman, Jasmine Cary, was arrested along with Gann at a northwest side motel.  She is not charged with Delilah's murder, but an affidavit claims she was present at the time.
