A 30 year old woman was killed early today when she was shot in the head as she rode in a car on 281 just north of downtown, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports.
Police were called for a report of a man 'dragging a woman down' 281 near Hidebrand about midnight. Then they got reports about gunfire.
When they arrived, they found the victim lying on the side of the road, bleeding from a bullet wound to the head. She was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead Sunday afternoon.
Police think the woman was shot by somebody in a car that pulled up alongside the vehicle she was in. They say the driver of the car that the dead woman was a passenger in was also hurt.. The car containing the gunman and a second car sped away.
They are looking for a Ford and a Dodge Charger with front end damage.
