Hard Time for Gang Member Who Murdered Balcones Heights Cop

A former Mexican Mafia hit man will spend 20 years in prison for ordering the murder of Balcones Heights Police Officer Julian Pesina back in 2014, News radio 1200 WOAI reports.

Jerry Idrogo, 37, lured Pesina out of his tattoo shop on Hillcrest, off Babcock Road, where he was shot and killed by two other members of the street gang.  Witnesses said Idrogo was ordered by gang higher-ups to kill Pesina...who was selling drugs while claiming to be a member of the Mexican Mafia.

Witnesses also tied Idrogo to the murder of another member of the street gang.

Billy Borego was in court to see the man who killed his father.

"At least we got him and God has his plans on how he is going to work everything out soon," Borego told News Radio 1200 WOAI's Michael Board.

The two men who actually shot and killed Pesina have been convicted and face mandatory life prison sentences.  They will be sentenced in February.
